May 15,  · This is the mono test pressing of Horace Silver's Stylings of Silver (Blue Note BNLP) from Classic Records. The disk was probably pressed by RTI—known for its high-end audio quality—on gram vinyl. The record is sealed in its original loose wrap. This record is on sale at roughly one-half its retail value/5().

"The Stylings Of Silver" was released on Blue Note Records in Horace Silver is one of the best pianists/composers of his time and I still feel that his own recordings as a leader are underrated. This album is just one of the many examples/5(9).

The Horace Silver Quintet (featuring trumpeter Art Farmer and tenor saxophonist Hank Mobley) is in top form on this date, particularly on "My One and Only Love" and their famous version of "Home Cookin'."All of Silver's Blue Note quintet recordings are consistently superb and swinging and, although not essential, this is a very enjoyable set.
